The project for the publication of “Espaços Compartilhados da Imagem” – Caderno de Reflexões Críticas sobre a Fotografia” (Shared Spaces of the Image – Notebook of Critical Reflections on Photography) has its origins in the research that guided the process for the development of 2013 and 2015 editions of FIF-BH.
This book consists of two chapters, Caderno de Textos (Notebook of Texts) and Caderno de Imagens (Notebook of Images), which are organized around texts written by guest authors, focused on understanding the photographic image universe in its various aspects – aesthetic, poetic, political, philosophical, social, historical, among others – and images produced by artists who participated in the first edition of the festival.
The Caderno de Textos (Notebook of Texts) presents nine critical essays written by theorists, thinkers, professors and artists divided into four investigative axes: “Espaços Compartilhados da Imagem” (Shared Spaces of the Image), “Tecnologia e Visualidade” (Technology and Visuality), “Imagem e Construção de Realidades” (Image and Construction of Realities) and “Política das Imagens” (The Politics of Images).
The guest authors are: Daniel Rubinstein, David Levi Strauss, Eduardo de Jesus, Maria Angélica Melendi, Patricia Azevedo, Roland Bleiker, Ron Burnett and Stefanie Baumann. Each of these axes represent specific points of interest that encouraged the conceptual research to prepare the discussions group proposed for the Festivals.
